Sun: .NET is faster & Java has shortcomings

Microsoft Corp. sought in court on Tuesday to portray Sun Microsystems's Inc. Java programming language as a product threatened by its own shortcomings rather than any anti-competitive behavior by Microsoft.
Holley introduced another e-mail that indicated some Sun employees were fearful of Microsoft's .NET initiative, software being developed by Microsoft that is designed to deliver services over the Web. Green took exception to one in which a Sun employee reported that tests demonstrated that .NET was faster and more efficient than Java.
