In a horrific sequence of destruction, terrorists crash two planes into the World Trade Center, bringing both 110-story towers down. Explosions also rock the Pentagon and spread fear across the nation. Terror struck at the heart of United States security Tuesday when an aircraft crashed into the Pentagon and two planes crashed into the World Trade Center in Manhattan, collapsing both of the massive towers of the landmark building and filling New York's financial district with smoke.
