Microsoft said on Thursday that its newest version of server software for managing networks of computers chalked up three times as many sales as the previous version in the 90 days since it was released in April. Windows Server 2003 is the "fastest-selling Windows Server release," said Bob Kelly, General Manager Microsoft's Windows Server product management group. The world's largest software maker is competing aggressively against Linux, software that can be copied and modified freely, in the market for corporate server software.
