With the widespread availability of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system just two weeks away, Microsoft Corp. today announced an update of the Windows Messenger real-time communications client, available Oct. 25, that will enable consumers to use their personal computers to make voice calls from their PCs to telephones via a choice of participating service providers within local regulations.
